I kind of like the multiple platform approach. I am intrigued on how it all would work. Wes Durham is a fox / raycom guy. Sounds like:
1) ESPN is still tier 1 - good
2) raycom / fox is still getting a regional broadcast like they currently do.
3) sounds like ESPN paying 45 million for not doing a network.
4) there is a lot of content which falls to like ESPN which is streamed and there is Olympic sports which don't get broadcast at all.
5) I wonder if part of the deal is to get NBC some of that content on espn3 or not broadcast at all for NBC sports channel. I wonder if they pay on top for some of that. That would get us more money. It would give them better content and I assume eyeballs which is something they need.
6) it would set up arrangements with fox, ESPN, and NBC so that you have a working relationship with everyone which may come in useful at the next negotiations.
